The grants are available to anyone, regardless of age, who wants to further their career in a technical or vocational type program<\/p>\n<p>Applications are available from the Lodge Scholarship Committee Chairman Keith Rydell at 419.234.401 or <a href=\"mailto:ksrydell@earthlink.net\">ksrydell@earthlink.net<\/a>. Applications and information is also available at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.web-ster.net\/ohioelks\/\">www.web-ster.net\/ohioelks\/<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0 The deadline for filing these applications is February 1, 2013.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Elks-Logo.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-25089\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Elks-Logo.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"125\" height=\"118\" \/><\/a>Applications for the Elks National Foundation\u2019s 2013 \u201cMost Valuable Student\u201d contest are also available from the lodge chairman or online at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.elks.org\/enf\/scholars\/mvs.cfm\">www.elks.org\/enf\/scholars\/mvs.cfm<\/a>. These scholarships are only available to graduating seniors who will be attending a four-year college or university. The deadline for filing applications is December 7.<\/p>\n<p>Both the Education Grants and the \u201cMost Valuable Student\u201d award application forms have been distributed to guidance offices at area schools. Applicants for those awards don\u2019t have to be related to a member of the Elks. College students are not eligible.<\/p>\n<p>Legacy Awards scholarships applications for children and grandchildren of Elks are also available.\u00a0 This contest is open to any high school senior who is the child or grandchild, including steps, or legal ward of an Elk member in good standing for at least two years. Applicants must apply through the Elks member\u2019s home lodge, regardless of where the applicant resides. Applications can be obtained from the lodge scholarship chairman or at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.elks.org\/enf\/scholars\/legacy.cfm\">www.elks.org\/enf\/scholars\/legacy.cfm<\/a>.
