Beckman, 82, of Van Wert, died at 4:40 a.m. Sunday, December 9, 2012, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_32494\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-32494\" style=\"width: 250px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/Nancy-Beckman-obit-photo-12-2012.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-32494 \" style=\"border: 1px solid black\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/Nancy-Beckman-obit-photo-12-2012.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"396\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-32494\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Nancy J. Beckman<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>She was born May 21, 1930, in Lima, the daughter of the late Earl and Marion (Montague) Holtzapple. On June 12, 1949, she married Joe S. Beckman, who preceded her in death on September 11, 2008.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. Beckman was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church in Van Wert. She was also a member of Willow Bend Country Club in Van Wert and a Van Wert County election precinct worker and former Twig member. She was a loving and caring person who loved to read &#8212; especially her Bible.<\/p>\n<p>Survivors include two sons, Greg (Susan) Beckman of Jupiter, Fla., and Bryce (Jackie) Beckman of Van Wert; a brother, the Rev. Donald (Janet) Holtzapple of Mansfield; four grandchildren, Adam (Sarah) Beckman, Scott Beckman, Amy (Robert) Pohorence and Wendy (Josh) Hackler; and three great-grandchildren, Britteny, Spencer and Marissa.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 12, at First United Methodist Church in Van Wert, with the Revs. Donald Holtzapple and Paul W. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Calling hours are from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Preferred memorials: Community Health Professionals-Hospice the Caring Way or First United Methodist Church.<\/p>\n<p>Arrangements were handled by Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home &amp; Crematory in Van Wert.<\/p>\n<p>Online condolences may be left at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alspachgearhart.com\">www.alspachgearhart.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nancy J.
