{"id":33310,"date":"2013-01-03T06:07:40","date_gmt":"2013-01-03T11:07:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/?p=33310"},"modified":"2013-01-03T06:07:40","modified_gmt":"2013-01-03T11:07:40","slug":"7-vwcs-educators-announce-retirement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2013\/01\/03\/7-vwcs-educators-announce-retirement\/","title":{"rendered":"7 VWCS educators announce retirement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Van Wert independent<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Van Wert City Board of Education accepted the resignation of several retiring veteran educators during a special meeting held earlier this week.<\/p>\n<p>Those retiring include Jeannie Ditmyer, a Title 1 teacher at the Van Wert Early Childhood Center, after 35 years in education, 34 of those at Van Wert; Ed Clark, Van Wert Middle School guidance counselor, after 30 years in education, 25 of those at Van Wert; Christine Heizman, Van Wert Elementary School special education teacher, after 32 years in education, 31 of those at Van Wert; Mike Ragan, VWMS social studies teacher, after 32 years in education, all at Van Wert; Jackie Stetler, VWMS paraprofessionals, after 29 years in education, all at Van Wert; Cindy Thomas, Van Wert High School math teacher, after 35 years in education, 33 of those at Van Wert; and Steve Thomas, VWHS industrial education teacher, after 35 years in education, all at Van Wert.<\/p>\n<p>The board also accepted the resignation of Ed Wells as a school bus mechanic, and then hired him as bus maintenance supervisor, effective January 1.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Van Wert independent The Van Wert City Board of Education accepted the resignation of several retiring veteran educators during a special meeting held earlier this week.
