{"id":34066,"date":"2013-01-24T07:39:48","date_gmt":"2013-01-24T12:39:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/?p=34066"},"modified":"2013-01-24T07:39:48","modified_gmt":"2013-01-24T12:39:48","slug":"county-spelling-bee-date-announced-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2013\/01\/24\/county-spelling-bee-date-announced-3\/","title":{"rendered":"County Spelling Bee date announced"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>County Spelling Bee news<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Sandra Freeman, coordinator for gifted and curriculum services for the Western Buckeye Educational Service Center, cordially invites the public to attend the 2013 Journal Gazette Van Wert County Spelling Bee.<\/p>\n<p>The County Bee is scheduled for Thursday, February 7, at 7 p.m. in the Marsh Foundation School Auditorium.<\/p>\n<p>Thirteen contestants representing eight Van Wert county schools, in grades five through eight, will compete for the honor of representing Van Wert County at the Journal Gazette Regional Spelling Bee in Fort Wayne, Indiana on March 9, 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Individual school champions are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Crestview Elementary\u2014Madalyn Ward, Grade 5; Emily Fegley, Grade 6<\/li>\n<li>Crestview Junior High\u2014Derek Stout, Grade 7; Alyssa Fegley, Grade 8<\/li>\n<li>Lincolnview Elementary\u2014Gavin Carter, Grade 5; Brayden Langdon, Grade 6<\/li>\n<li>Lincolnview Junior High\u2014Lainie Jones, Grade 7; Zania Hasty, Grade 8<\/li>\n<li>St. Mary of the Assumption School\u2014Joseph Schaufelberger, Grade 6<\/li>\n<li>Van Wert Elementary\u2014Angelina Haller, Grade 5<\/li>\n<li>Van Wert Middle School\u2014Najah Martin, Grade 6; Gabriella Van Horne, Grade 7, Nick Motycka, Grade 8<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Van Wert resident Doug Grooms is the pronouncer for the Spelling Bee.
