As a child, the photographer became very interested in nature after learning about the very last passenger pigeon from one of his mother’s Time-Life picture books.

Since then, Sartore has been intrigued by the vast variety of species such as wolves, grizzlies, musk oxen, lions, elephants and polar bears. Not only does he work for National Geographic, but Sartore has contributed to Audubon Magazine, Geo, Time, Life, Newsweek, Sports Illustrated and numerous book projects.

Sartore and his photo work have been the subjects of several national broadcasts, including “National Geographic’s Explorer”, the “NBC Nightly News”, NPR’s “Weekend Edition” and an hour-long PBS documentary, “At Close Range”. He is also a contributor on the CBS “Sunday Morning Show” with Charles Osgood.

Sartore will give the audience the experience of a lifetime as he shares his own personal adventures. From the steamy Amazon to the high Arctic, the photographer shares a lively, intimate and humorous look at what could be the best — and worst — job in the world, as he plays expedition leader, psychologist, medic, accountant, and coach, as well as photographer. It’s all just another day at the office on assignment for National Geographic.

Tickets for the April 21 show are $10 for students and $20 for adults.
