Eight people were arraigned on a variety of charges during hearings held Wednesday morning in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court.<\/p>\n

Dominique Brown, 27, of Defiance, entered not guilty pleas to charges of aggravated burglary, a first-degree felony, and felonious assault, a felony of the second degree, on Wednesday. She was released on a personal surety bond, but with the added conditions that she have no contact with the alleged victim in the case and that she not be in Van Wert County except to meet with her probation officer.<\/p>\n

Judge Charles D. Steele scheduled a pretrial conference on the charges for 8 a.m. Wednesday, February 13.<\/p>\n

Other arraigned on Wednesday include the following:<\/p>\n

Robert Thompson, 29, of Van Wert, entered not guilty pleas to three counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs that are, respectively, felonies of the second-, third- and fourth degree. He was released on a personal surety bond and a pretrial conference set for 8 a.m. February 13.<\/p>\n

Samuel Geckle, 44, of Convoy, pleaded not guilty to a charge of having weapons under disability, a felony of the third degree. He was released on a personal surety bond and will appear for a pretrial hearing at 8 a.m. February 13.<\/p>\n

Lawrence Blakely, 63, of Van Wert, entered not guilty pleas to nine counts of deception to obtain dangerous drugs, each a fifth-degree felony offense, and one count of worker\u2019s compensation fraud, a misdemeanor of the first degree. He was released on a personal surety bond and a pretrial conference scheduled for 8 a.m. February 13.<\/p>\n

Todd Vincent, 46, and Tracie Vincent, 49, both of Willshire, each pleaded not guilty to charges of corrupting another with drugs, a felony of the second degree; and possession of cocaine and permitting drug abuse, both fifth-degree felonies. Both were released on a personal surety bond, with no contact allowed with the alleged victim, and will appear for a pretrial conference at 8 a.m. February 13.<\/p>\n

James Sidle, 49, of Convoy, entered a not guilty plea to a charge of operating a vehicle while impaired, a felony of the fourth degree. He was released on a personal surety bond and will appear for a pretrial conference at 8 a.m. February 13.<\/p>\n

Also Wednesday, Bradley Beining, 35, of Van Wert, changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of drugs, a felony of the fifth degree, and then requested, and was granted, treatment in lieu of conviction. He will be under the supervision of the Adult Probation Department until his treatment is completed.<\/p>\n

Two people were also sentenced on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Allen McMillen, 29, of Van Wert, was sentenced to 60 days in jail on a charge of obstructing official business — a second-degree misdemeanor — with credit for six days already served.<\/p>\n

Dennis Vickery, 62, of Van Wert, was given three years of community control, with an additional 60 days of jail time, on two counts of trafficking in marijuana, each a felony of the fifth degree.
