The trio was sentenced during hearings held Thursday in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court.<\/p>\n<p>Zachariah Germann, 25, of Elida, admitted to new violations of rules while serving time at the Van Wert County Correctional Facility and Judge Charles D. Steele decided he had had enough. The judge handed down deferred prison terms of four years each on three separate felony counts and 18 months on another count, but noted the prison terms would be served at the same time, concurrently. He also gave Germann credit for 323 days already served while awaiting sentencing.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_7465\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7465\" style=\"width: 330px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/CP-Court-5-4-11-Germann.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-7465  \" style=\"border: 1px solid black\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/CP-Court-5-4-11-Germann.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"330\" height=\"267\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-7465\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Zachariah Germann testifies during a sentencing hearing May 5, 2011, in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court. (VW independent file photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The defendant was sentenced on third-degree felony counts of burglary and having weapons under disability and a fourth-degree felony charge of theft from an elderly person. According to court documents, Germann had pawned two firearms belonging to an elderly relative to get money for his drug habit, resulting in the weapons under disability charges. He also said he stole jewelry from the relative and pawned it to get money to pay for drugs.<\/p>\n<p>Eddy Blossom, 27, of Willshire, was ordered to serve a nine-month deferred prison term after he admitted to several probation violations, including being convicted of disorderly conduct in Mercer County, testing positive for drug use, not completing ordered counseling and lying about that to his probation officer. He was given credit for 209 days already served while awaiting sentencing.<\/p>\n<p>Shane Seekings, 28, of Van Wert, admitting to violating probation by not reporting to his probation officer and was re-sentenced to three years of community control, with the additional stipulation that he serve up to six months in the WORTH Center.<\/p>\n<p>Also Wednesday, Ronald Cobb, 22, of Van Wert, was sentenced to three years of community control on a charge of corrupting another with drugs, a felony of the fifth degree. A 60-day jail term was also added to his community control sentence, as well as a substance abuse assessment and recommended treatment. His driver\u2019s license was also suspended for six months and he was ordered to have no contact with the victim in the case.<\/p>\n<p>Ream Thomas Davis, 55, of Van Wert, was given three years of community control following his \u201cno contest\u201d plea to two counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs, both felonies of the fourth degree. As part of his community control, Davis must serve 30 days on electronically monitored house arrest and undergo a substance abuse assessment and any recommended treatment.
