Alice Neoma Hoover, 89, of Convoy, died at 9:50 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2013, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.<\/p>\n
She was born March 28, 1923, in Tully Township, Van Wert County, the daughter of the late Noah and Bessie P. (Clayton) Poling. On December 26, 1943, she married Dale A. Hoover, who survives.<\/p>\n
Other survivors include three daughters, Bonne J. Wermer of Van Wert, Patricia (Brent) Basil of West Chester and Deborah Sheets of New Bavaria; a sister, Pauline Eddy of Convoy; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.<\/p>\n
Three brothers, Doyle, Maurice and Marvin Poling; and three sisters, Frema Habegger, Fern Simmers and Fortress E. Mohl, also preceded her in death.<\/p>\n
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 21, at St. Paul\u2019s Reformed Church in America in Harrison Township, with Pastor Chad Strabbing officiating. Burial will be in Evangelical Protestant Cemetery in rural Van Wert County.<\/strong><\/p>\n Calling hours are from 3-7 p.m. Wednesday, February 20, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, and an hour prior to services Thursday at the church.<\/strong><\/p>\n Preferred memorials: St. Paul\u2019s Reformed Church in America, the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center or a charity or donor\u2019s choice.<\/p>\n
