{"id":35101,"date":"2013-02-18T20:45:04","date_gmt":"2013-02-19T01:45:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/?p=35101"},"modified":"2013-02-18T20:45:04","modified_gmt":"2013-02-19T01:45:04","slug":"marlyn-jeanne-larue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2013\/02\/18\/marlyn-jeanne-larue\/","title":{"rendered":"Marlyn Jeanne LaRue"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Marlyn Jeanne LaRue, 87, of Convoy, died at 1:08 a.m. Monday, February 18, 2013, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Convoy.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_35102\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-35102\" style=\"width: 250px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Marlyn-LaRue-obit-photo-2-2013.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-35102 \" style=\"border: 1px solid black\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Marlyn-LaRue-obit-photo-2-2013.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"250\" height=\"351\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-35102\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Marlyn Jeanne LaRue<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>She was born July 20, 1925, in McClure, the daughter of the late Othor and Ethel (Alspaugh) Erven. On April 24, 1948, in St. Paul\u2019s Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, Ind., she married Richard E. LaRue, who survives in Convoy.<\/p>\n<p>Mrs. LaRue graduated from International Business College in Fort Wayne and is a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Convoy. She had worked at Drake\u2019s Hardware in Convoy and Drs. Johnson and Adams\u2019 office in Van Wert. She enjoyed sewing, reading, crossword puzzles, and playing the piano. After retirement, Marlyn and Richard traveled and spent winters in Mission, Texas, for many years.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to her husband, survivors include six children, Stephen (Joan) LaRue of Tucson, Ariz., Chris (Julie) LaRue of Convoy, Peggy (Ed) Fritz of Woodburn, Ind., Susan (Jack) Gunsett of Convoy, Jill (Don) Carrier of Convoy, and Jean (Scott) Dickman of Convoy; 12 grandchildren, Kelly (Chad) Marks, Malissa Fritz, Michelle (Joe) Schaller, Michael (Cristy) Fritz, Adam Carrier, Brad (Ashley) Carrier, Mark (Cara) Carrier, Kevin (Missy) Dickman, Kristin (Curt) Oechsle, Kari (Matt) Plessinger, Matthew LaRue and Brooke LaRue; and six great-grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p>A sister, Helen Rhodes; one brother, Robert Erven; and a grandson, Derek Gunsett, also preceded her in death.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 21, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Convoy, with the Rev. Michael Saylor officiating.
