Frank Baum&#8217;s timeless classic <em>The Wizard of Oz. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>This beloved, memorable show has been seen by almost everyone and is a timeless favorite<em>. <\/em>The show will be full of beautiful sets from the Munchkin Land to the amazing Emerald City. Don\u2019t forget about the creepy forest and the witch\u2019s eerie castle.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Wizard-of-Oz-logo.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-35120\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Wizard-of-Oz-logo.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"127\" \/><\/a>The characters will come alive with the students\u2019 acting skills and topped off with dazzling costumes.\u00a0 There are sure to be many magical moments filled with humor and fun-filled adventures.\u00a0 <em> <\/em>Just follow the yellow brick road to the Niswonger Performing Arts Center to see the musical version of this show at 7 p.m. on the nights of Thursday, April 18, Friday, April 19, and Saturday, April 20.<\/p>\n<p>Several high school students are involved with this production. Leading roles include Harley Danylchuk as Dorothy, Hunter Munroe as the Cowardly Lion, Jesse Daniels as the Tinman, Drew Hoffman as the Scarecrow, Ashlee Dowdy as the Wicked Witch, Morella Mills as Glinda, Robbie Trittschuh as General of the Army of Winkies, and Jacob Hoverman starring as Professor Marvel and the Wizard of Oz.\u00a0 <strong> <\/strong>Several supporting roles include the following cast members:<strong> <\/strong> Corrie Smith, Levi McCarter, Bailey Krol, Jon Lisa, LeAndryce Miller, Stephanie Haggis, Sage Burden, Joe Linser, Alea Hill, Alora Yorkovich, James Defore, Elizabeth Lassiter, Becca Johnson, Brittney Boaz, Korbin Schalois, Levi McCarter, Hannah Fraser, Alexis Billingham, Alexa Freeland, Peyton Closson, Kaleb Cantrell, Nick Olson, Andrea Foster, Karli Turnwald, Leslie Foster, Megan Barnhart, Haley Walker, Rebecca Welker, Shelbee Miller, Haley Richardson, and Sarah Wray.\u00a0 In addition to the cast of high students, the show includes several of the following elementary students starring as munchkins and flying monkeys:\u00a0 Kayla Krites, Alayna Cripe, Elizabeth Rutkowski, Jenna Covey, Madison Bracken, Sydney Maller, Kimberly Adams, Carly Smith, Cassidy Heath, Jamie Burenga, Ciara Becker, Janie Trejo, Kendall Rauch, Mia Kelley, Sam Price, Ethan White, Xander Scarpelli, Evan Sroufe, Zane Gile, and Kaden Thomas.\u00a0 The show won\u2019t run without the dynamic stage crew.\u00a0 This year\u2019s crew will be led by Matt Saunier as the stage manager with his production crew consisting of the following students: Samantha Brooks, Nick Olson, Madison Smith, Andrew Perry, Shelbee Miller, Maizy Zsiros, Haley Sperry, Serenity Duty, Morgan Lahmon, Shianne Baldwin, Haley Richardson, and Mackenzie Agler.\u00a0 Matt Saunier\u2019s crew is sure to bring the show alive with special effects and professional \u201cTechnicolor\u201d lighting.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->The directors of the show are Chad Kraner and Matt Alessandrini, along with Tonia Gamble as the munchkin music director, Josh Schumm coordinating set construction, Hugh Saunier as technical director, Melissa Bloomfield and Kimberly Pollock as choreographers, and Marilyn Alessandrini as accompanist, along with a live orchestra performing the music for the show.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets for <em>The Wizard of Oz<\/em> will go on sale at the NPAC box office starting the week of March 25.\u00a0 If you would like to be a patron member and get access to the early bird gold circle seating reservations, email us at <a href=\"mailto:vwhsdramaclub@gmail.com\">vwhsdramaclub@gmail.com<\/a> and be sure to visit the new theatre website at the following address:\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/site\/vwhsdramaclub\/\">https:\/\/sites.google.com\/site\/vwhsdramaclub\/<\/a> to get more information.\u00a0 Also, check out the progress of the show with our blog entries at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vwhsdramaclub.blogspot.com\">www.vwhsdramaclub.blogspot.com<\/a> where students and directors will keep you posted.\u00a0 Stay tuned for more information about this amazing show!\u00a0 For now, plan on attending the Land of Oz!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>VWHS Drama Dept. news The Van Wert High School Theatre Department is excited to announce their spring production of the musical version of L.
