First Financial Bank announced substantial upgrades to two of its Van Wert facilities during a news conference held Tuesday. The bank plans to upgrade both its Summit banking center at 1163 S. Shannon St. and its downtown drive-thru facility at 113 E. Central Ave.<\/p>\n

The Summit office renovation will include additional office space, a more open and accessible floor plan, new teller lines, comfortable furniture, and bright colors and graphics. The renovations will begin in May and the office will remain open with no interruption in service for clients.<\/p>\n

An interior facelift is also planned in May for the downtown drive-thru as a complement to the new drive-thru ATM installed there in 2012. Lobby service will be available at the drive-thru office, beginning this summer, and provide convenience for those who work, live and shop in the downtown area.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re excited to make improvements at these Van Wert locations,\u201d said George Brooks, market president for First Financial. \u201cWe believe that investments like these help demonstrate First Financial\u2019s ongoing commitment to the Van Wert area, and allow us to serve our clients and the community with convenient lobby and drive-thru services that fit their busy lives.\u201d<\/p>\n

With the completion of upgrades to the two facilities, First Financial will discontinue lobby service at the bank\u2019s main office at 102 E. Main St., starting August 30. At that time, associates working at that office will relocate to other nearby First Financial banking centers.<\/p>\n

Brooks noted that First Financial has been a long-time supporter of the Main Street Van Wert program and will continue its involvement in revitalization efforts downtown. In fact, he said, the bank is a participant in the Downtown Revolving Loan Program, which is designed to help local businesses and the downtown area be more successful.<\/p>\n

Brooks said First Financial clients recently received letters from the bank to keep them informed about the renovations and changes in Van Wert. The letter included key dates and helpful information about convenient ways to continue banking during and after the renovation period.<\/p>\n

First Financial Bankcorp is a Cincinnati-based bank holding company with $6.5 billion in assets, $3.9 billion in loans, $5 billion in deposits and $710 million in shareholder equity, as of December 31, 2012.<\/p>\n
