{"id":36996,"date":"2013-04-08T05:20:53","date_gmt":"2013-04-08T10:20:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/?p=36996"},"modified":"2013-04-08T05:21:41","modified_gmt":"2013-04-08T10:21:41","slug":"council-on-aging-to-host-purse-bingo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2013\/04\/08\/council-on-aging-to-host-purse-bingo\/","title":{"rendered":"Council on Aging to host Purse Bingo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Council on Aging news<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On Friday evening, June 14, the Van Wert County Council on Aging will host a Designer Purse Bingo event at the senior center, 220 Fox Road in Van Wert.\u00a0 During the event, authentic designer purses will be given away, with the majority of the purses being by Coach.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_36997\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-36997\" style=\"width: 240px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Coach-handbag-artwork-4-2013.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-36997 \" style=\"border: 1px solid black\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/Coach-handbag-artwork-4-2013.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"285\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-36997\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Coach handbags like this one will be the prizes for a Purse Bingo event hosted by the Van Wert County Council on Aging.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at the senior center Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $15 if tickets are purchased by June 1.\u00a0 After that date, the cost for any remaining tickets will be $20.<\/p>\n<p>Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. and the \u201cearly bird\u201d games will begin at 6 p.m. Early bird packets will be available for $5.<\/p>\n<p>Following the early bird games, the fun will continue with 20 more Bingo games that will be played for authentic designer purses. There will also be several raffles, a 50\/50 drawing, and a \u201cspin the wheel\u201d drawing. Food will be available and door prizes will be given out.<\/p>\n<p>The high cost of fuel is a huge problem for the Council on Aging.\u00a0 Every day the organizations has 2-3 vans on the road from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.\u00a0\u00a0 Many area seniors require trips to medical facilities outside the county, so the Council on Aging routinely makes trips to Fort Wayne, Ind., Defiance, Celina, and Lima.\u00a0 The Purse Bingo fundraiser will assist the agency in providing these much needed services to area senior citizens.<\/p>\n<p>For more information on Purse Bingo or any other questions, call 419.238.5011.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Council on Aging news On Friday evening, June 14, the Van Wert County Council on Aging will host a Designer Purse Bingo event at the senior center, 220 Fox Road in Van Wert.\u00a0 During the event, authentic designer purses will be given away, with the majority of the purses being by Coach.
