Call those bookworm, gardening and recycling friends and meet them at the open house for refreshments, freebies and fellowship. A guided tour of the recycling facility, where 16,000 to 20,000 tons of recyclable materials is processed each day, is also being offered.<\/p>\n<p>Freebies include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1,000 red oak tree seedlings<\/li>\n<li>Four free scoops of regular wood mulch<\/li>\n<li>Thousands of free books<\/li>\n<li>Hot and cold beverages, hot dogs and other refreshments<\/li>\n<li>All electronics recycling, including televisions and computer monitors<\/li>\n<li>All appliances, from toaster to walk-in freezers<\/li>\n<li>Recycle four passenger tires<\/li>\n<li>Recycle latex and acrylic paint (liquid in original container only)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Electronics eligible for recycling include computers and all accessories, stereo equipment, televisions, VCR and DVD players, adding machines, radios, communication equipment and anything else with a battery or a cord.<\/p>\n<p>Appliances eligible for recycling include microwaves, sweepers, toasters, air conditioners, bicycles, freezers, refrigerators, stoves, hot water heaters, dishwashers, washers, dryers, grills, power tools, lawn mowers, trimmers and anything else with a cord, motor, engine or battery.<\/p>\n<p>The Solid Waste Management District recycling facility is located at 1135 N. Washington St. in Van Wert.
