{"id":37288,"date":"2013-04-16T05:24:46","date_gmt":"2013-04-16T10:24:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/?p=37288"},"modified":"2013-04-16T05:24:46","modified_gmt":"2013-04-16T10:24:46","slug":"cougars-edge-bluffton-in-boys-tennis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2013\/04\/16\/cougars-edge-bluffton-in-boys-tennis\/","title":{"rendered":"Cougars edge Bluffton in boys&#8217; tennis"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Van Wert boys\u2019 tennis news<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Van Wert boys\u2019 tennis team eked out a 3-2 win over Bluffton in a non-conference tennis match held Monday evening.<\/p>\n<p>No.1 singles player Lane Mansfield got a hard-fought three-set victory, 6-3, 2-6 and 6-2, while the No. 1 doubles team of Luke Stevens and Jon Lisa won 6-3, 6-4, as did the No. 2 doubles team of Alex Bair and Eli Alvarez were also victorious by a score of 6-3, 6-4.<\/p>\n<p>No. 2 singles player Erik Yeung and No. 3 singles player Nick Etter both lost in straight sets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe beat a good Bluffton team tonight,\u201d said Van Wert Coach Mitch Price. \u201cIt was nice to see Lane Mansfield get the win tonight; he was struggling a bit in a couple of matches, but tonight he played really good.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Price said his young Cougar tennis team is still trying to figure out how to win, but its 3-0 record is testament to the fact that the players have been able to do that so far this season.
