{"id":38050,"date":"2013-05-03T05:45:55","date_gmt":"2013-05-03T10:45:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/?p=38050"},"modified":"2013-05-03T05:46:00","modified_gmt":"2013-05-03T10:46:00","slug":"lancer-baseball-team-loses-to-usv","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2013\/05\/03\/lancer-baseball-team-loses-to-usv\/","title":{"rendered":"Lancer baseball team loses to USV"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Lincolnview baseball news<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Lincolnview Lancer baseball team got strong pitching, but still struggled at the plate in a 5-3 loss to Upper Scioto Valley on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Kyle Williams took his first loss of the year on the mound and the Lancers are now 5-10 overall and 2-4 in the Northwest Conference.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKyle did a good job for us on the mound again, and we just couldn\u2019t get a win for him,\u201d said Lincolnview Coach Kevin Longstreth, noting that his team continues to play fairly well on defense.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need to continue to develop at the plate,\u201d Longstreth added. \u201cWe have taken enough reps and played enough games for us to be better hitters than we are showing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Offensively, Conner McCleery was 1 for 1 at the plate, with two RBI and one run scored, while Troy Patterson as 1 for 3 with one RBI.
