This addition was made possible through a generous contribution from CenturyLink. Tyler Thompson (formerly from Rockford), CenturyLink local area plant supervisor in Bellefontaine, helped coordinate this effort with the Rockford Recreation Association.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_39116\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-39116\" style=\"width: 330px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/Centurylink-scoreboard-5-2013.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-39116 \" style=\"border: 1px solid black\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/05\/Centurylink-scoreboard-5-2013.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"330\" height=\"271\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-39116\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The new CenturyLink scoreboard, installed above Diamond 2 at Shanes Park on May 17, is ready for the summer baseball and softball season. (photo submitted)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&#8220;CenturyLink recognizes\u00a0the importance of youth sports activities,\u201d Thompson said. \u201cWe\u00a0understand that the community\u00a0supports the efforts of the Rockford Recreation Association, so we are pleased to support their efforts as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>CenturyLink has a rich history of supporting local communities. Its employees live and work and raise their families in and around Rockford and are proud to work for a local company committed to improving lives and communities in\u00a0the area.<\/p>\n<p>CenturyLink supports the area through financial and volunteer investments, including the\u00a0Chambers of Commerce,\u00a0economic development initiatives,\u00a0education, United Way,\u00a0food banks, and culture and arts, among others.
