{"id":39492,"date":"2013-06-07T05:14:19","date_gmt":"2013-06-07T10:14:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/?p=39492"},"modified":"2013-06-07T05:14:48","modified_gmt":"2013-06-07T10:14:48","slug":"elks-announce-elks-day-at-camp-clay","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2013\/06\/07\/elks-announce-elks-day-at-camp-clay\/","title":{"rendered":"Elks announce &#8216;Elks Day at Camp Clay&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Van Wert Elks news<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Van Wert Lodge 1197, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, invites all kids ages 8 and up to come to YMCA Camp Clay on Tuesday, June 18, from noon-4 p.m. for \u201cElks Day at Camp Clay.\u201d This special event for children is free; there will be no entry fee to enjoy the Camp Clay facilities on this day.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Elks-Logo.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-25089\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Elks-Logo.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"125\" height=\"118\" \/><\/a>Activities include paddleboats, kayaking, canoeing, wall climbing, swimming and the nature trail.\u00a0 The Aqua Park and playground will also be open and available to use.<\/p>\n<p>The Elks will provide a free lunch to all the kids who participate in this special event.<\/p>\n<p>Van Wert Elks Lodge 1197 is able to provide this free day at Camp Clay for all the kids from a Gratitude Grant it received from the Elks National Foundation. The lodge was able to meet its goal of contributing a minimum of $4.50 per member to the Elks National Foundation this past lodge year.<\/p>\n<p>The Elks National Foundation is a perpetual trust fund established many years ago by the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks.
