{"id":39535,"date":"2013-06-08T07:53:51","date_gmt":"2013-06-08T12:53:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/?p=39535"},"modified":"2013-06-08T07:53:51","modified_gmt":"2013-06-08T12:53:51","slug":"tug-of-war-returns-to-2013-vw-rib-fest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2013\/06\/08\/tug-of-war-returns-to-2013-vw-rib-fest\/","title":{"rendered":"Tug-of-War returns to 2013 VW Rib Fest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Van Wert CVB news<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Van Wert Rib Fest will be scene of this year\u2019s second annual Tug-of-War Competition.\u00a0 The contest sponsored by the Van Wert Area Convention and Visitors Bureau will pit teams from area businesses and organizations against one another with the ultimate winner taking home the traveling trophy and bragging rights.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLast year\u2019s winning team, representing Cooper Farms, is pretty confident no one can defeat them,\u201d said Larry Lee, CVB executive director. \u201cThey dare anyone to take them on!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s competition will take place in front of the entertainment stage at the Rib Fest beginning at 3 p.m.\u00a0 The number of teams is unlimited, but each team must have exactly eight members.\u00a0 The entry fee is $40 per team (or $5 per team member).<\/p>\n<p>Complete rules and entry forms are available at the CVB office at 136 E. The winning  trophy was awarded to Cooper Farms, whose members consisted of Desmond Frost, Greg Mullins, Steve Pardon, Nick Decker, Harley Danakin and Thomas Cook.
