{"id":39824,"date":"2013-06-18T06:37:59","date_gmt":"2013-06-18T11:37:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/?p=39824"},"modified":"2013-06-18T06:37:59","modified_gmt":"2013-06-18T11:37:59","slug":"grube-suspect-held-on-5-million-bond","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2013\/06\/18\/grube-suspect-held-on-5-million-bond\/","title":{"rendered":"Grube suspect held on $5 million bond"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Van Wert independent<\/em><\/p>\n<p>CELINA &#8212; A teenager charged in connection with the deaths of Fort Recovery area residents Robert and Colleen Grube has been ordered held on a $5 million cash bond during his initial appearance Monday held in Celina.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_39825\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-39825\" style=\"width: 193px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/Trevin-Sanders-Roark-5-2013.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-39825 \" style=\"border: 1px solid black\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/Trevin-Sanders-Roark-5-2013.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"193\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-39825\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Trevin Sanders Roark<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Trevin Sanders Roark, 19, of Union City, Ind., is charged with 27 criminal counts, including aggravated murder, kidnapping, aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary, as well as the \u201clesser included\u201d charges of murder, involuntary manslaughter, robbery, theft and burglary, in connection with the death of the elder Grube, 70, and his daughter, 37, on November 30, 2011. Also included in the charges are specifications that a firearm was used in the commission of the crimes, which would add mandatory consecutive sentences, if he is convicted of any of those.<\/p>\n<p>Both the elder Grube and his daughter, who was also his caretaker, were tied with duct tape and then killed inside Robert Grube\u2019s house, located three miles east of Fort Recovery.<\/p>\n<p>The teenager will appear for an arraignment hearing in Mercer County Common Pleas Court on Tuesday, July 2. Because he was a juvenile at the time the murders were committed, Sanders Roark cannot be given the death penalty.<\/p>\n<p>Also charged in connection with the murders is Bryant L. Rhoades, 22, also of Union City, Ind., who will appear today for a hearing in the case.
