He married Lou Esther (Clouse) Manken, who preceded him in death.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/American-Flag-for-obituaries-6-2011.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-8711\" style=\"border: 1px solid black\" src=\"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/American-Flag-for-obituaries-6-2011.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"125\" height=\"66\" \/><\/a>Survivors include three children, James (Joyce) Manken of Celestine, Ind., Sharon (Mearle Stone Jr.) Stone of Stendal, Ind., and John (Carrol) Manken of Grove Spring, Mo.; a brother, Gerald Manken of Van Wert; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Ellen Edwards.<\/p>\n<p>A sister, Phyllis Gehres, also preceded him in death.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home &amp; Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul W. Miller officiating.
