ROCKY McVAIGH\/<\/strong>for the Van Wert independent<\/em><\/p>\n

On June 24, the Van Wert YMCA Marlins hosted the Lima Sherwood Swim Club. The Marlins took the meet by the score of 352-280, moving their record to 2-3.<\/p>\n

It has been a long time since the Marlins have taken down the usually tough Sherwood club, and it was an all-around strong team performance, with 39 of the 42 Marlin swimmers scoring in at least one event.\u00a0 Tyra McClain (5) and Sam Easley (5) continued their undefeated season streak. Also winning all of their individual events were Jaimie Burenga (5); Daniel Miller and Katie McVaigh (3).<\/p>\n

Others with first place finishes were Ian Rex, 50-meter backstroke, Dylan Neate (4), Aaron Stant (3), Erin Miller (1), Bethany Fast (2), Colton Deschner (1) and Hanah Stemen (1).<\/p>\n
