{"id":40407,"date":"2013-07-04T06:54:25","date_gmt":"2013-07-04T11:54:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/?p=40407"},"modified":"2013-07-04T06:54:25","modified_gmt":"2013-07-04T11:54:25","slug":"man-serious-after-shooting-incident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2013\/07\/04\/man-serious-after-shooting-incident\/","title":{"rendered":"Man &#8216;serious&#8217; after shooting incident"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Paulding County Sheriff\u2019s Office news<\/em><\/p>\n<p>PAULDING \u2013 A man who barricaded himself in his house for four hours was listed in serious condition this morning in a Fort Wayne, Ind., hospital after he was shot by an officer from the Allen County Sheriff\u2019s Department\u2019s SWAT team.<\/p>\n<p>James Fleenor, 42, of rural Paulding County, was shot in the upper torso after he fired at deputies with a rifle when they stormed his residence in an attempt to end the stand-off.<\/p>\n<p>Paulding County Sheriff Jason Landers said the decision to enter the residence was a joint decision by him and Allen County Sheriff Sam Crish.<\/p>\n<p>Sheriff Crish noted that the officer who shot Fleenor, Deputy Gary Hook, has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the shooting investigation, per departmental policy.<\/p>\n<p>Criminal charges against Fleenor are also being reviewed by the Paulding County Prosecutor\u2019s Office, following an investigation being conducted by the Van Wert County Sheriff\u2019s Department and a crime scene unit from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Paulding County Sheriff\u2019s Office news PAULDING \u2013 A man who barricaded himself in his house for four hours was listed in serious condition this morning in a Fort Wayne, Ind., hospital after he was shot by an officer from the Allen County Sheriff\u2019s Department\u2019s SWAT team.
