YMCA of Van Wert County news<\/i><\/p>\n

The YMCA of Van Wert County fall youth sports registration will start Monday, July 22, and run through Saturday, August 24. This includes registration for flag football, girls\u2019 volleyball and soccer.<\/p>\n

Girls and boys ages 3\u00bd-12 are eligible to register for flag football and soccer; and girls ages 6-13 are eligible to register for volleyball. Flag football games for those ages 3\u00bd-5 years old will be held Thursday evenings starting September 17 and ending October 22. Flag football games for those 6 years old and older will be played on Tuesday nights starting September 19 and ending October 24.<\/p>\n

The 6-year-olds and older divisions will be based on the number of participants in the program and their ages to ensure safety and friendly competition. Soccer games will be held Saturday mornings, starting Saturday, September 21, through October 26; and girls\u2019 volleyball games will be held Monday evenings, September 16 through October 21.<\/p>\n

New to the fall youth sports lineup will be a junior high soccer league for seventh and eighth graders.\u00a0 Along with the addition of the junior high league, the youth sports program will present a \u201cplayer of the game\u201d medal to one player at each game and host a pool party at the end of the year to celebrate the season!<\/p>\n

\u201cImplementing these new fun events has the kids that are playing the game excited and focused,\u201d said Program Director Mitch Price. \u201cHopefully they are making childhood memories while encouraging new players to come out and participate.\u201d<\/p>\n

Registration fees are $15 for family members of the YMCA of Van Wert County; $25 for youth members and $60 for potential (non) members.<\/p>\n

Those interested may register for fall sports, starting Monday, July 22, by coming in to the Van Wert YMCA, calling 419.238.0443 or by accessing the YMCA website at www.vwymca.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n
