VW County Fair news<\/i><\/p>\n

Attempting to win a blue ribbon from the County Fair is a very old tradition and this could be a local resident\u2019s lucky year!<\/p>\n

There are many types of entries to select from, in addition to livestock and animals, such as farm products, horticulture, canned goods, baked goods, fine arts, photography, antique and miscellaneous articles, domestic manufacture, and cut flowers and potted plants. Exhibitors do not have to belong to a specific group or club to make an entry.<\/p>\n

Entries are open to the public. Pick up a 2013 fair book at the fair office or access the book as a PDF file on the fair website, www.vanwertcountyfair.com<\/a>. \u00a0Give it a try!<\/p>\n

\"VW<\/a>The Van Wert County Fairgrounds issues a reminder that all entries for the 2013 Fair will close on Saturday, August 10.\u00a0 This entry deadline includes Senior Fair (must be brought to the fair office) and Junior Fair entries (must be made online at the fair website above).
\nCamping permits for the Van Wert County Fair may be picked up at the office starting Monday, August 6.
\n<\/sup>The fair office is selling six-day fair admission tickets for $18 as season and membership tickets. In order to vote for fair board directors, one must have a membership ticket and be a resident of Van Wert County. Membership tickets will not be sold after Tuesday, August 27, at 5 p.m.\u00a0 Season tickets will not be sold after Wednesday, August 28, at 5 p.m.<\/p>\n

Single-ticket daily gate admission has been reduced to $5 for those ages 9 years and over, but is only $3 for young people ages 9-15 if they enter with a person who has a membership or season ticket.<\/p>\n

The office is now selling tickets for the James Otto concert, with Exploit as the opener, to be held in the grandstand on Saturday, August 31, at 8 p.m.\u00a0 Concert tickets are $15 or $20 with all seating reserved. Grandstand tickets are also available for the Michindoh Truck & Tractor Pull, cheerleading contest, heavyweight horse pull, demolition derby, harness and running horse races, and the high school band show.<\/p>\n

The Fair office is open daily from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m.-noon. Van Wert County Fair dates are Wednesday, August 28, through Monday, September 2.
