{"id":4159,"date":"2011-03-04T02:08:43","date_gmt":"2011-03-04T07:08:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/?p=4159"},"modified":"2011-03-04T02:08:43","modified_gmt":"2011-03-04T07:08:43","slug":"vw-election-board-seeks-poll-workers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2011\/03\/04\/vw-election-board-seeks-poll-workers\/","title":{"rendered":"VW Election Board seeks poll workers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Van Wert County Board of Elections is looking for individuals interested in serving as poll workers in Van Wert County.<\/p>\n<p>Being a poll worker is a great opportunity for registered voters who have the time to commit on Election Day.\u00a0 It\u2019s also a great way for students, part-time employees, retired citizens and people with flexible schedules to serve their community.<\/p>\n<p>Poll workers must meet the following requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Be at least 17 years of age and a registered voter in Van Wert County.<\/li>\n<li>Must not have been convicted of a felony (unless the conviction has been reversed, expunged or pardoned).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Poll workers also:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Will need to have transportation to and from the polls.<\/li>\n<li>Cannot be running as a candidate in an election in which they are working.<\/li>\n<li>Will need to attend a training session.<\/li>\n<li>Will need to work from 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Those who choose to work at the polls will receive training and be paid for their time.<\/p>\n<p>Those interested in becoming a poll worker should contact the Van Wert County Board of Elections at 419.238.4192.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Van Wert County Board of Elections is looking for individuals interested in serving as poll workers in Van Wert County.
