VW County Sheriff\u2019s Dept. news<\/i><\/p>\n

Another home-invasion style burglary was reported by the Van Wert County Sheriff\u2019s Department on Monday.<\/p>\n

According to Sheriff Tom Riggenbach, a county resident was assaulted during a burglary that occurred Sunday at a Pleasant Township home.<\/p>\n

According to the sheriff\u2019s department report, dispatchers received a call that one or more people entered a garage at the residence in question and, when the homeowner heard a noise and went to the garage, he was assaulted by one of the alleged burglars.<\/p>\n

After assaulting the home\u2019s resident, the unknown suspects fled the scene.<\/p>\n

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation of the Attorney General Mike DeWine\u2019s office was contacted the process the scene, and the Van Wert Police Department also assisted at the scene.<\/p>\n

Sheriff Riggenbach is asking that anyone with information on the burglary contact his office at 419.238.3866 or submit information on the Van Wert County Sheriff\u2019s Department website at www.vanwertcountysheriff.com<\/a> using the \u201cSubmit a Crime Tip\u201d link.<\/p>\n
