Van Wert volleyball news<\/i><\/p>\n
The Van Wert Cougars were back in action on Monday night on their home court for the third match of the season, this one a non-league match-up with Delphos St. John\u2019s. Van Wert defeated the Blue Jays in four games by scores of 25-22, 25-12, 21-25 and 26-17.<\/p>\n
The Cougar junior varsity team also won, 25-20 and 25-21, while the freshman team was also victorious in two, 25-12 and 25-13.<\/p>\n
With the wins, the Van Wert JVs are now 3-0, while the freshmen are 2-0 on the season.<\/p>\n
Varsity stats are as follows:<\/p>\n
Serving \u2013 Riley Jones, 22\/22, with two aces; and Taylor Doidge, 19\/20 with one ace.<\/p>\n
Hitting \u2013 Alexa Dunlap, nine kills; and Alexis Dowdy and Doidge, six kills each.<\/p>\n
Defensive digs \u2013 Doidge led the team.<\/p>\n
Setting \u2013 Amanda Coplin, 15 assists; and Jones, 14 assists.<\/p>\n
