CONVOY — The Lady Knights volleyball team hosted Coldwater in a non-conference match-up and lost in three straight games, 19-25, 23-25 and 16-25. Crestview is now 0-1 on the season and will be back in action on Saturday in a tri-match at Stryker against the host team and Archbold.<\/p>\n
\u201cEven though we did not come out on top, I was very pleased with our play in our first match of the season, with how aggressive we came out and battled for each and every point,\u201d said Crestview Coach Tammy Gregory. \u201cColdwater is a very strong team in all aspects of the game, which will allow them to battle for that top spot in the MAC (Midwest Athletic Conference) this year.\u201d<\/p>\n
Gregory noted that the Lady Knights had Coldwater down 10-3 and 18-10 in the second game of the match, but couldn\u2019t put the Lady Cavs away. \u201cThis match will only prepare us better for our upcoming season and give us the much needed confidence to compete with these types of teams in our very competitive schedule,\u201d Coach Gregory said.<\/p>\n

Serving \u2013 Haley Helm, 14\/14 with two aces; Mackenzie Riggenbach, 10\/10; Grace Callow, 9\/9; Mallory Bowen, 8\/8; Kirstin Hicks, 6\/6; Tianna Rager, 10\/11.<\/p>\n
Hitting \u2013 Courtney Trigg, 8 kills; Hicks, 7 kills; Callow and Nicole McClure, 5 kills each; Megan Hartman and Helm, 4 kills each.<\/p>\n
Setting \u2013 Riggenbach, 16 assists; Helm, 14 assists.<\/p>\n
Blocking \u2013 Trigg, 4 stuff blocks.<\/p>\n
Digs \u2013 Rager and Hicks led the way on the defensive side in service receptions and digs.<\/p>\n
