Many events for all ages are being planned for the weekend event, including a couple of new events for this year.<\/p>\n<p>One new event is a Tug-A-Truck, which be held Friday, September 27, starting at 6:30 p.m. There will be three classes \u2013 5,500, 7,500 and 9,500 pounds \u2013 with an 80 percent payback per class (check out the Convoy village website, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.villageofconvoy.com\">www.villageofconvoy.com<\/a>, for more rules or call John Giessler at 419.203.0067 or CW Harting at 419.203.2117.<\/p>\n<p>Admission to the event is a $5 donation, or $5 worth of nonperishable food items for the local food pantry for grandstand seats, while a pit pass goes for $10.<\/p>\n<p>Another new event this year is the Convoy Fire &amp; EMS pancake and sausage breakfast, which will run from 7-9:30 a.m. Saturday, September 28, at the fire station. While there, area residents can also check out the new fire trucks and other equipment.<\/p>\n<p>Other events scheduled for this year\u2019s Community Days includes the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dinner in the Park \u2013 5 p.m. Friday, September 27; Saturday \u2013 Sandwiches all day, including Gibson\u2019s Backyard Barbecue pulled pork; Sunday, September 29, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. \u2013 Sandwiches and dessert bar. Food will be available all weekend at the concession stand. Donations of pies, cakes and other desserts will be accepted. Those interested in helping can call Shelly Bolenbaugh at 419.749.2525.<\/li>\n<li>Beautiful Baby Contest (sponsored by Convoy Preschool) \u2013 Drop off a baby photo at Convoy Preschool as soon as possible. The winner will be announced Sunday at 1 p.m.<\/li>\n<li>Lions Club Bingo \u2013 Friday and Saturday night from 6:30-9 p.m. in the Edgewood Park Community Building.<\/li>\n<li>Karaoke with Ben Jones \u2013 Friday, September 27, at 9 p.m. in the park building.<\/li>\n<li>Coed and men\u2019s softball tournament \u2013 Men\u2019s tournament will be held Saturday, September 28, and coed tourney on Sunday, September 29, at the Edgewood Park ballfields. Contact Tim Bolenbaugh at 419.749.2525 for more information.<\/li>\n<li>Kids\u2019 activities \u2013 A Kiddy Tractor Pull in the parking lot; registration at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 28 for ages 3-8, with the pull beginning at 11 a.m. Kids games by Convoy Preschool from 10-11:45 a.m. in the park building. Mark\u2019s Ark Animal Show at 4 p.m. in the park building.<\/li>\n<li>Self-defense for All \u2013 Saturday, September 28, starting at noon on the basketball courts for all ages, both kids and adults. A registration form can be found on the village website above.<\/li>\n<li>Basket Bingo \u2013 Saturday, September 28, in the park building. Doors open at 11:30 a.m., while early bird Bingo will start at noon. One game is $5, prizes include Stephanie Dawn and Brandy J handbags donated by KAM Manufacturing and made in Van Wert County. Regular Bingo will begin at 12:30 p.m., with 20 games for a basket filled with goodies from Convoy area businesses. A raffle and door prizes will also be awarded. Call Deb Miller at 419.749.4156 for more information.<\/li>\n<li>Mark\u2019s Ark Animal Show \u2013 Saturday, September 28, at 4 p.m. in the park building. Mark is an expert animal handler. His critter knowledge is matched with humor and wit to make for an exciting one-hour program. Critters that will be visiting Convoy Community Days will include snakes, lizards, tortoises, a hedgehog, some creepy crawlies, a toad, birds, and frogs. Bringing the zoo to you!<\/li>\n<li>Michindoh Truck Pulls \u2013 Saturday, September 28, starting at 6 p.m., at the back of Edgewood Park. Check out the village website for rules and regulations. Entry fee is $20 per two-person team for the double-elimination tourney. Two divisions: Under 18 and open. Two awards per division. For more information, call Linda Clay at 419.203.3546.<\/li>\n<li>5K run\/walk \u2013 Held Sunday, September 29, with registration beginning at 12:30 p.m., and the race starting at 1:30 that afternoon. The race will be a 3.1-mile loop that starts and finishes at Edgewood Park. Entries may be sent to 5K Run\/Walk, P.O. Box 310, Convoy, OH 45832.<\/li>\n<li>Reverse Raffle \u2013 Event will be held Sunday, September 29, in the park building, beginning at 1:30 p.m. Grand prize is $850 and only 200 tickets will be sold. Winners need not be present, except to win \u201cdouble if present\u201d drawing.
