The Van Wert Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), in partnership with The Van Wert County Foundation, announces the availability of summer 2011 educational camp scholarship opportunities for area sixth- and seventh-grade girls.<\/p>\n
One camp scholarship will be awarded to attend Be Wise Camp, a math and science experience to be held June 12-17 on the campus Denison University in Granville. Be Wise Camp is sponsored by the Ohio AAUW and the scholarship to attend is valued at $480.<\/p>\n
Two full scholarships are being offered to Camp GEMS (Girls in Engineering, Math and Science). Camp GEMS will be held at Ohio Northern University in Ada from July 17-20. The camp is sponsored jointly by ONU and the Lima AAUW branch. The value of each Camp GEMS scholarship is $295.<\/p>\n
Applications for all three camp scholarships can be obtained in the offices of all Van Wert County elementary, junior high and middle schools, as appropriate. Applications can also be requested by calling Deb Kleinhenz at 419.238.9519. The postmark deadline for receiving completed camp scholarship application forms is Tuesday, March 15.<\/p>\n
