The varsity team won a three-game match with Kenton by scores of 25-11, 25-15 and 25-15 to go to 7-2 overall and 2-1 in the WBL.<\/p>\n<p>The Cougar junior varsity team also was victorious, defeating the Defiance JVs in two games, 25-15 and 25-10.<\/p>\n<p>Varsity stats leaders include the following:<\/p>\n<p>Serving \u2013 Alexa Dunlap, 16\/17; Amanda Coplin, 9\/9; and Riley Jones, 9\/9.<\/p>\n<p>Hitting \u2013 Taylor Doidge, 7 kills; and Alexis Dowdy, 6 kills.<\/p>\n<p>Defensive digs \u2013 Claire Gamble and Dunlap, 8 digs apiece.<\/p>\n<p>Setting \u2013 Jones, 13 assists; and Coplin, 7 assists.<\/p>\n<p>The Cougars will be back at home next Thursday when they take on Elida in another WBL match-up.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Van Wert volleyball news The Van Wert Lady Cougars were back in action on Thursday as they traveled to Kenton to take on the Lady Wildcats in a Western Buckeye League volleyball match.
