OTTAWA — The Lincolnview Lancer cross country teams traveled to the Ottawa-Glandorf invitational on Saturday.\u00a0The boys\u2019 team placed second with 85 points, just five points behind Pettisville.<\/p>\n
The Lancers were led by a fourth place finish by Bayley Tow, who ran the course in a time of 16:45.\u00a0He was followed by teammates Ben Bilimek 11th (17:33), Alex Rodriguez 12th (17:35), Travis Lippi 26th (18:07), Trevor Neate 32nd (18:24), Colton Snyder 37th (18:31), and Tracey West 43rd (18:38).<\/p>\n
\u201cThis was our best team race of the season;\u00a0we had great conditions and a fast course and the boys took advantage of that,\u201d said Lincolnview Coach Matt Langdon. \u201cWe finally got some movement from our 4-7 guys and they ran much closer to where they are capable of racing.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have some work ahead of us, but we are at a good place right now going into the second half of the season,\u201d he added. \u201cI challenged some of the boys this week and it was good to see them respond.\u201d<\/p>\n
The girls\u2019 team placed 13th overall and was led by a strong race by Anna Gorman, who placed 16th in a career best time of 21:17.\u00a0 Other scorers were Abbie Enyart 73rd (23:50), Claira Rhoades 104th (25:54), Mikinzie Dull 105th (25:56), and Ryanne Ducheney 128th (27:18).<\/p>\n
\u201cThe girls all ran personal bests today; I like how they are really buying into cross country and steadily improving,\u201d Coach Langdon said. \u201cAnna had a nice race for us today and is starting to see her full potential as a cross country runner.<\/p>\n
