(Photo submitted.)<span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"font-size: 13px;line-height: 19px\"><br \/><\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Crestview FFA members recently participated in Cows and Plows, a program designed to teach elementary students about agriculture and its history.\u00a0 \u201cIt is important to educate kids about farm life if they have not grown up on one,\u201d said senior Scott Miller.\u00a0 \u201cI enjoy lending a hand to help out with this great experience.\u201d\u00a0 The program has evolved over the years to include various farmers from around the county to educate students.<\/p>\n<p>Tournament action is around the corner for many sports.\u00a0 The golf team, consisting of Connor Lautzenheiser, Jake Mengerink, Cain Lautzenheiser, Jon Germann, and Ronnie Schumm, has its sectional tournament today in Paulding.<\/p>\n<p>Sophomore Connor Lautzenheiser said, \u201cWe have worked on chipping and putting a lot in practice to help us lower our scores. We have also continued to hit off the range and work on our swing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The golf team has had a great deal of success, given the lack of many returning players.\u00a0 This factor has allowed underclassmen to step up and prove they have what it takes to advance the Crestview golf program.<\/p>\n<p>Student Council has organized a car wash at AutoZone in Van Wert from noon-3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28.\u00a0 The money raised from this event will go to aid the family of a Convoy community member.\u00a0 Student council members will work the wash and are happy they can help make a difference.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis will get us involved with our tight-knit community,\u201d said Student Council Vice-President Austin Cunningham.\u00a0 \u201cIt also teaches students the value of volunteering for such events.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Tanner Skelton Students are back in the swing of things and ready to dig in after a day off for teacher and staff in-service.\u00a0 On the students\u2019 first day back, school pictures were taken.\u00a0 Homecoming preliminary elections took place Sept. 19 and 20.\u00a0 These elections are designed to select homecoming candidates.
