LIMA — The Van Wert Lady Cougar volleyball team was back in action on Thursday as they traveled to Lima Bath to take on the Lady Wildcats in a Western Buckeye League match-up. The Cougars were again victorious, defeating Bath straight games by scores of 25-11, 25-21 and 25-15.<\/p>\n
Van Wert is now 12-2 on the season and 4-1 in the WBL.<\/p>\n
Stats leaders for the Cougars are as follows:<\/p>\n
Serving \u2013 Claire Gamble, 18\/18; McKenna Merkle, 13\/13; Amanda Coplin, 13\/14, with one ace.<\/p>\n
Hitting \u2013 Alexis Dowdy, six kills; Taylor Doidge, Coplin, Alexa Dunlap and McKenzie Collins, two kills each.<\/p>\n
Defensive digs \u2013 Dunlap, 10 digs; Cheyenne Handy, seven digs.<\/p>\n
Setting \u2013 Riley Jones and Coplin, seven assists each.<\/p>\n
The Van Wert junior varsity team also won against Bath in straight games: 25-14 and 25-13. The JV team is now 9-5 on the year.<\/p>\n
