{"id":43891,"date":"2013-10-08T07:26:50","date_gmt":"2013-10-08T12:26:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=43891"},"modified":"2013-10-08T07:26:50","modified_gmt":"2013-10-08T12:26:50","slug":"marsh-seeks-supper-club-volunteers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2013\/10\/08\/marsh-seeks-supper-club-volunteers\/","title":{"rendered":"Marsh seeks Supper Club volunteers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><i>Marsh Foundation information<\/i><\/p>\n<p>The Marsh Foundation and Big Brothers Big Sisters need volunteers to be a &#8220;Big&#8221; for the Supper Club Program.\u00a0 There are several youths from The Marsh Foundation looking forward to spending some time with a special friend a couple of times a month from November until May.\u00a0Without enough volunteers, some youths may not be able to participate in the program.<\/p>\n<p>Area residents could become that special friend for one of the youths. Last year, one participant said one of his best days was when he got his &#8220;Big&#8221;. Area residents could help give another youth the same experience.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Marsh-logo-8-2010.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-27050\" alt=\"Marsh logo 8-2010\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Marsh-logo-8-2010.jpg\" width=\"200\" height=\"210\" \/><\/a>The program begins in November.\u00a0The Supper Club Program consists of \u201cBigs\u201d and \u201cLittles\u201d getting together on the first and third Thursdays of the month for supper and an activity.\u00a0This year, the theme is \u201cExperience Life\u201d.\u00a0 Some of the activities planned include a Christmas party and feast, all group birthday party, restaurant trips, service projects, making meals, match art project and a lot of other fun activities.<\/p>\n<p>The volunteers also visit their \u201clittles\u201d at the youth\u2019s group home once a month on a weekend day of their choosing for a couple of hours.<\/p>\n<p>To participate in this program or for more information, call Big Brothers Big Sisters at 419.394.2990, 1.866.670.BBBS or email <a href=\"mailto:neberle@bbbsma.com\">neberle@bbbsma.com<\/a>, call Sherry Grone, activities coordinator at The Marsh Foundation,\u00a0at 419.605.2512 or email <a href=\"mailto:sgrone@marshfoundation.org\">sgrone@marshfoundation.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It doesn\u2019t take a lot to make a big difference in a life of a youth at The Marsh Foundation.\u00a0Contact BBBS or The Marsh Foundation today to start something.<\/p>\n<p>Serving children and families since 1922, The Marsh Foundation is a not-for-profit children\u2019s services agency that provides behavioral treatment in a variety of settings. Services include group homes, treatment and family foster care, an intensive treatment program and independent living.
