OTTAWA — The Lancer cross country teams traveled to Ottawa on Saturday to compete in the Division III District Tournament.\u00a0 The boys\u2019 team took home the district runner-up trophy, finishing just four points behind first place Minster.<\/p>\n
The Lancers had two All-District finishers in Bayley Tow and Alex Rodriguez.\u00a0Tow finished the race in third place overall and Rodriguez placed ninth.\u00a0Rounding out the scoring for the Lancers was Ben Bilimek (17th), Travis Lippi (18th), Trevor Neate (19th), Colton Snyder (22nd), and Tracey West (28th).<\/p>\n
\u201cToday was one of our best team races of the season.\u00a0 We looked both in control and aggressive the entire race and it was obvious that they were focused on qualifying for the regional meet,\u201d said Lincolnview Coach Matt Langdon.\u00a0\u201cIt was a bonus that we were able to place so high and nearly knock off a very talented Minster team.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThis now allows us to take a shot at qualifying for the state meet and, going into the season, that is all you hope for,\u201d Coach Langdon said. \u201cI like the way we are racing right now and I think this coming weekend in Tiffin we will run our best race yet.<\/p>\n
The girls team placed ninth overall.\u00a0Individually, Anna Gorman placed 33rd, Abbie Enyart 35th, Claira Rhoades 58th, Mikinzie Dull 63rd, and Ryanne Ducheney 65th.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
