The Van Wert High School marching band and two choirs have scheduled concerts in the next few days.<\/p>\n

The Vocal Music Department at VWHS will present a fall concert this Thursday evening, starting at 7:30, in the Niswonger Performing Arts Center. The concert is free and features VWHS’ Freshman Choir and Concert Choir.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, October 29, the Van Wert “Cougar Pride” Marching Band will present its end-of-season concert. The concert will be held in the Saltzgaber Music Hall of the NPAC, starting at 7:30 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n

The band concert will feature music from the band’s pre-game ceremony, bleacher tunes and halftime shows. Traditional school songs, along with selections from the “Pure Imagination: A Journey to Dreamland” halftime series will be highlights of the concert.<\/p>\n

The “Cougar Pride” marching band had a very successful season, performing four different halftime shows, including “Once Upon a Dream” (a journey into the world of sweet, nice dreams), “Teenage Dreams” (featuring current pop tunes with a dream subject, and also including the Van Wert Middle School Eighth Grade Band), “Twice Upon a Nightmare” (a journey into the dark world of scary dreams), and the season-ending traditional “Senior Night” show that honors graduating members of the marching band.<\/p>\n

The shows include such songs as “Pure Imagination” (from Willy Wonka<\/em>), “Sweet Dreams” by the Eurythmics, “Imagine” by John Lennon, “Teenage Dreams” by Katy Perry, “Thriller” by Michael Jackson and many more.<\/p>\n
