Van Wert independent\/submitted information<\/i><\/p>\n

The sale of Van Wert County farmland will benefit organizations that provide Bible instruction for county elementary students.<\/p>\n

Charles and Jacqueline Profit have donated the proceeds from 38.6 acres of farmland to The Van Wert County Foundation for the benefit of the Lincolnview Bible Board, Crestview Heritage Board and Cross Over the Hill Inc.<\/p>\n

Attorney Steve Keister said the proceeds from the sale would provide approximately $15,000 a year, or about $5,000 a year to each of the three groups.<\/p>\n

The Profits, who spent their entire adult lives as county farmers, are now retired. They have two children and two grandchildren, and attend Ohio City Church of God. They have also supported and traveled on various mission trips in the United States and Central America.<\/p>\n

The specific directive of the Profits\u2019 gift states that the money would be used for \u201cthe independent Bible-based instruction of school-aged children attending public schools in Van Wert County.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Profits said they were impressed by the voluntary student attendance and the dedication of volunteers and parents in the current programs of the Lincolnview Bible Board, Crestview Heritage Board and Cross Over the Hill organizations and wanted to provide consistent financial support for those programs, as well as encourage others to extend their support to these worthwhile endeavors.<\/p>\n
