The Hopewell 4-H Club met on Oct. 24 at the Mt. Tabor Church of God.\u00a0 Vice President Libby Suhr called the meeting to order.\u00a0 Cloverbud Derrick Wagner led the club in saying \u201cThe Pledge of Allegiance\u201d while he and his mom held the American flag.\u00a0 Kaylin Avers led the club in reciting the 4-H Pledge.<\/p>\n
The treasurer\u2019s report was given.\u00a0 The report was approved.<\/p>\n
Under old business, the club discussed their fall party.\u00a0 Camp Clay was a possibility but the members did not feel they could cover the cost at this time and thought it best to look at Camp Clay for a summer party.\u00a0 Heiston Woods, in Van Wert, offered club members a special price of $4 plus a canned-food item.\u00a0 Members were to see Tracy if interested.<\/p>\n
Under new business, officer elections were held.\u00a0 Each member currently holding an office was asked to stand and inform members of their duties.\u00a0 The following members were elected to office for the 2013-2014 school year:<\/p>\n
President \u2013 Katie Hoenie<\/p>\n
Vice President \u2013 Shelbe Eddington<\/p>\n
Treasurer \u2013 Libby Suhr<\/p>\n
Secretary \u2013 Maggie Houts<\/p>\n
The following members volunteered to be reporters\/historians for the 2013-2014 year: \u00a0Caleb Suhr, Drew Wagner, Laura Barret, Jack Wagner, Malcom Head, Sidney Michael, Madina, Kaylin Avers.<\/p>\n
As ballots were being tabulated, leftover membership awards and fair premiums were handed out.<\/p>\n
Members signed up for demonstration presentations.<\/p>\n
It was announced there would be no meeting in December.\u00a0 The next meeting will be the Christmas Party in January.\u00a0 This decision was passed after a motion by Rose and a second by Bree.<\/p>\n
Hopewell welcomed a new member, Madina, after a motion by Rose and a second by Shelbe.<\/p>\n
Heather, from Pampered Chef, attended the meeting to discuss with the members their fundraiser.\u00a0 All orders and money will be due at the November 26 meeting.<\/p>\n
Drew Wagner gave a demonstration on Tornado Safety.\u00a0 Jack Wagner gave a demonstration on Kitchen Safety. \u00a0Malcom Head gave his demonstration on Remote Control Cars, a project which earned him a State Fair invitation!\u00a0 Great job, boys!<\/p>\n
The next regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 26, at 7 p.m. at Mt. Tabor Church of God.<\/p>\n
The meeting was adjourned after a motion by Bree and a second by Caleb.<\/p>\n
