Van Wert swim team information<\/i><\/p>\n

The Van Wert High School boys and girls swimming teams hosted Coldwater and Versailles in a double dual meet at the Van Wert YMCA. The Cougar boys dominated the pool and defeated both visiting teams, while the VWHS girls were victorious against Coldwater, but lost to Versailles.\u00a0 The boys defeated Coldwater 69-21 and Versailles 50-44.\u00a0 The Cougar girls defeated Coldwater 69-23, but lost to Versailles by a score of 22-72.<\/p>\n

Individual girls who earned a first place finish included Holly Hammond (200-meter and 100-meter freestyle), Hannah Stemen (100-meter backstroke and 50-meter freestyle), Karlyn Koontz (400-meter freestyle), Andi Foster (200-meter individual medley and 100-meter butterfly), and Bethany Fast (100-meter breaststroke).<\/p>\n

Boys receiving first place included:\u00a0 Eric Easley (200-meter freestyle and 100-meter breaststroke), Sam Easley (100-meter freestyle and 100 meter backstroke), Adam Jurczyk (200-meter freestyle and 100-meter freestyle), Jacob Scheidt (50-meter freestyle), Kory Schlatter (400-meter freestyle) and Josh Overholt (100-meter breaststroke).<\/p>\n

All Cougar relays finished first as well, including the 200-meter boys\u2019 medley (Eric Easley, Josh Overholt, Sam Easley, Adam Jurczyk) and girls\u2019 200-meter medley (Stemen, Koontz, Fast, Katie Trittschuh), boys\u2019 200-meter freestyle relays (Scheidt, Daniel Silette, Overholt, Jurczyk) and girls\u2019 200-meter freestyle (Koontz, Trittschuh, Fast, Hammond); 400-meter freestyle: boys\u2019 (Sam Easley, Eric Easley, Jurczyk, Scheidt) and girls\u2019 (Foster, Trittschuh, Hammond, Stemen).<\/p>\n

The Cougars will travel Thursday to the Wapakoneta YMCA to take on Wapak and Lima Central Catholic.<\/p>\n
