{"id":46649,"date":"2013-12-18T18:10:39","date_gmt":"2013-12-18T23:10:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=46649"},"modified":"2013-12-18T18:29:12","modified_gmt":"2013-12-18T23:29:12","slug":"woman-killed-in-walmart-parking-lot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2013\/12\/18\/woman-killed-in-walmart-parking-lot\/","title":{"rendered":"Woman killed in Walmart parking lot"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><i>Van Wert independent<\/i><\/p>\n<p>An 84-year-old Van Wert woman was killed in a car-pedestrian accident in the parking lot of Walmart late this morning.<\/p>\n<p>Janice Johnson was pronounced dead at Van Wert County Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in the accident.<\/p>\n<p>According to Van Wert police, Marcelene Price, 61, of rural Van Wert County, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck in the Walmart parking lot at about 11:50 a.m. Wednesday and hit Johnson, who was in the main east-west drive in front of the store.<\/p>\n<p>Police and a Van Wert Fire Department EMS squad were dispatched soon after and Johnson was taken to the hospital, where she later died.<\/p>\n<p>Price was not injured in the crash, which remains under investigation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Van Wert independent An 84-year-old Van Wert woman was killed in a car-pedestrian accident in the parking lot of Walmart late this morning.
