ROCKY McVAIGH\/<\/b>for the Van Wert independent<\/i><\/p>\n

WAPAKONETA — On December 7, the Van Wert YMCA Marlins traveled to Wapakoneta to swim in a tri-meet against the Wapak YMCA and Putnam County YMCA.<\/p>\n

Van Wert lost to both teams. In 9-10 girls, Emma Pollock took first in the 50-yard butterfly and 50-hard freestyle, while teammate Jamie Burenga secured a first in the 100-yard individual medley, 100 freestyle and 50 backstroke.<\/p>\n

Also with first place finishes were: Ian Rex (1), Risa Pollock (3), and Dylan Neate (1).<\/p>\n

The Marlins\u2019 December 14 home meet against Wapakoneta was cancelled due to the weather and the team\u2019s next action will be at home on January 4, 2014.<\/p>\n
