Van Wert swimming teams<\/i><\/p>\n

OTTAWA — The Van Wert High School boys and girls traveled to the Putnam County YMCA to compete with St. Marys Memorial and Ottawa-Glandorf high schools. This meet was scored as a double dual. The Cougar boys defeated St. Marys 104-56, but fell to Ottawa-Glandorf 79-83.\u00a0 The Cougar girls also defeated St. Marys 89-69, and also fell to Ottawa-Glandorf 56-104.\u00a0 O-G teams both defeated St. Marys.<\/p>\n

Van Wert boys\u2019 swimmers placing first overall included Eric Easley (100-yard individual medley and 100-yard backstroke), and the 400-yard free relay team (Eric Easley, Adam Jurczyk, Jacob Scheidt, Sam Easley).<\/p>\n

Best finishers for Van Wert girls were first place overall for the girls 200-yard individual medley relay team (Hannah Stemen, Bethany Fast, Andi Foster, Peyton Fleming), with Stemen earning a second place finish in the 100-yard backstroke.<\/p>\n

The Cougar swim team will compete next at the Wapakoneta-Celina Invitational today.<\/p>\n
