Van Wert swim teams<\/i><\/p>\n

The Van Wert High School boys and girls swimming teams traveled to Defiance High School to compete in a dual meet. Both cougar teams were victorious over the Defiance Bulldogs: girls 92-89 and boys 110-57.<\/p>\n

Swimmers placing first in individual events included:\u00a0 Holly Hammond (200-yard freestyle), Eric Easley (500-yard freestyle), Sam Easley (100-yard freestyle), Cade Fleming (200-yard freestyle), and Kory Schlatter (100-yard backstroke) and Josh Fowler (1-meter diving).<\/p>\n

Four Van Wert relays finished in first place:<\/p>\n

The cougar swimmers will compete again, Saturday, when they return to Defiance for the Western Buckeye League championship meet.<\/p>\n
