Van Wert County\u2019s Democratic Party Central Committee convened on January 21 for the 2014 reorganizational meeting. A slate of officers for the upcoming year was elected:\u00a0 Al Arnold, chairman; Jason Dettrow, vice chairman; Tara Fox, treasurer; and Jeanne Zeigler, secretary. Connie Hoverman was designated as director of public relations.<\/p>\n
Ziegler was also appointed to membership as the Democratic representative to the Van Wert County Board of Elections.<\/p>\n
Nancy Dixon announced her candidacy for the office of Van Wert County auditor, a position that she has held for many years. The Central Committee pledged its full support to Dixon\u2019s reelection.<\/p>\n
Several elected positions on the Central Committee remain unfilled. Democrats interested in serving as a precinct representative or as an at-large representative should contact Brenda Weaver at the County Elections Board office to attain a nominations petition.<\/p>\n
