{"id":47771,"date":"2014-01-24T08:12:19","date_gmt":"2014-01-24T13:12:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/?p=47771"},"modified":"2014-01-24T08:12:19","modified_gmt":"2014-01-24T13:12:19","slug":"kinstles-cuts-ribbon-on-new-showroom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thevwindependent.com\/news\/2014\/01\/24\/kinstles-cuts-ribbon-on-new-showroom\/","title":{"rendered":"Kinstle&#8217;s cuts ribbon on new showroom"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>DAVE MOSIER\/<\/b><i>independent editor<\/i><\/p>\n<p>There was cake, snacks, a drawing for a big-screen television and a ribboncutting ceremony as Lee Kinstle\u2019s GM Sales &amp; Service celebrated completion of its new showroom Thursday with an open house.<\/p>\n<p>Eric McCracken, owner of the GM dealership, cut the ribbon on the new showroom, which took a little more than 50 weeks to complete, starting January 10, 2013, and ending two days before the end of last year on December 29.<\/p>\n<p>A large number of people were on hand to help McCracken and Kinstle staff celebrate, including members of the Van Wert Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, local officials, Kinstle customers and many others.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re very excited,\u201d McCracken said on Thursday. \u201cWe love and support this community and wouldn\u2019t want to do it anywhere else.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>McCracken said the project was undertaken to provide better identification with the GM and Chevrolet brands, while also adding functionality to the showroom.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI loved the old building and was very excited to keep most of that the same, but also make it look more like Chevrolet and GM wanted us to look,\u201d he added, noting that the front entrance now conforms with the GM corporate branding.<\/p>\n<p>The dealership\u2019s new exterior, McCracken added, will also identify Kinstle as a GM dealership, so that non-Van Wert GM customers driving through the community will instantly know the dealership can help them with automotive needs.<\/p>\n<p>McCracken said most of the early work on the project was done inside the building, so that many people did not know the extent of what was being done at the dealership until work, which was done mostly using local contractors, moved to the buildings\u2019 exterior.<\/p>\n<p>One thing that hasn\u2019t changed: dealership founder Lee Kinstle\u2019s picture still hangs on the wall, and McCracken said that, and the dealership\u2019s name, won\u2019t change.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_47772\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-47772\" style=\"width: 545px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Kinstle-showroom-ribboncutting-1-23-14.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-47772 \" style=\"border: 1px solid black\" alt=\"Members of the Van Wert Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and others watch as Eric McCracken cuts the ribbon on Lee Kinstle GM Sales &amp; Service's new showroom.
