United Way campaign information<\/i><\/p>\n

The 2013 United Way campaign is winding down, and it appears as if this year\u2019s campaign totals will be about the same as the year before.<\/p>\n

However, several companies did go above and beyond this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe United Way is pleased to announce that we had an increase in pledges from the Van Wert County Hospital employees and the hospital itself,\u201d said Anita Carvajal, 2013 campaign chair.\u00a0\u201cEmployees pledged a total of $7,680, a 13 percent increase, and the hospital pledged $7,000, a 29 percent increase.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis pushes our campaign total just over the $400,000, or 80 percent of our goal,\u201d Carvajal added.\u00a0\u201cI would like to thank Jennifer Williams and Brett Taylor who chaired the hospital campaign. They did a great job and we appreciate their efforts on behalf of the United Way.\u201d<\/p>\n

Carvajal noted that there are still two industries that have not reported a campaign total, as well as some other contributions to come in, but added that it looks like the United Way will end the campaign at about $425,000 — about what it did last year.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are grateful to individuals, businesses, industries, organizations, and everyone who did make a contribution to the 2013 campaign,\u201d Carvajal said.<\/p>\n
