The original Jerome Robbins choreography is reproduced by Tony Award-nominee Joey McKneely (<i>The Boy from Oz<\/i>, <i>The Life<\/i>).<\/p>\n<p><i><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/West-Side-Story-promo-artwork-2-2014.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-48432\" style=\"border: 1px solid black\" alt=\"West Side Story promo artwork 2-2014\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thevwindependent.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/02\/West-Side-Story-promo-artwork-2-2014.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a>West Side Story<\/i> tells the story of star-crossed lovers Tony and Maria as they struggle to rise above the hatred and intolerance that surrounds them. <i>West Side Story<\/i> soars as the greatest love story of all time and remains as powerful, poignant and timely as ever.<\/p>\n<p>The Bernstein and Sondheim score is considered to be one of Broadway\u2019s finest and features such classics of the American musical theatre as \u201cMaria,\u201d \u201cSomething\u2019s Coming,\u201d \u201cTonight,\u201d \u201cAmerica,\u201d \u201cI Feel Pretty\u201d and \u201cSomewhere.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Associated Press says <i>West Side Story<\/i> \u201cremains Broadway\u2019s best dance-driven musical. Five decades have not dimmed the extraordinary choreography or the score that pulsates throughout.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Variety says, \u201cThe true stars of <i>West Side Story<\/i> are Jerome Robbins&#8217; graceful, endlessly expressive choreography and Leonard Bernstein&#8217;s score, which still sounds bracingly modern a half-century after it was first heard. The music is a primal force.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><i>West Side Story<\/i> is written by three theatrical luminaries, including two-time Tony Award winner Arthur Laurents (book) and multiple Tony and Grammy Award winners Leonard Bernstein (music) and Stephen Sondheim (lyrics) in his Broadway debut.<\/p>\n<p><i>West Side Story<\/i> features scenic designs by James Youmans, costumes by Tony Award nominee David C.
