A number of talented Van Wert County musicians performed Sunday afternoon during the 11th annual Van Wert County Young Artists Recital held in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church in Van Wert.<\/p>\n

High school musicians from Van Wert, Lincolnview and Spencerville got the chance to show off their talents during the annual event, sponsored by The Van Wert County Foundation and First UM Church.<\/p>\n

Among those performing were the following:<\/p>\n

Chance Burnett, a senior at Lincolnview, who sang \u201cThe Vagabond\u201d by Ralph Vaughn Williams.<\/p>\n

Katlyn Wendel, a freshman at Lincolnview, who played \u201cWedding Day at Troldhaugen\u201d by Edvard Grieg on the piano.<\/p>\n

Michael Garay, a senior at Lincolnview, who played \u201cContest Etude No. 1\u201d by Ostransky on his baritone saxophone.<\/p>\n

Lexi Billingham, a senior at Van Wert, who performed Goedicke\u2019s \u201cConcert Etude\u201d on trumpet.<\/p>\n

Braxton Matthews, a sophomore at Lincolnview, who performed \u201cVittorio, mio core\u201d by Carissimi.<\/p>\n

Alex Green, a sophomore at Van Wert, who performed \u201cAndromeda\u201d by Beethoven on French horn.<\/p>\n

Lydia Engh, a senior at Spencerville, who played \u201cSonata Opus 2, No. 1\u201d by Beethoven on piano.<\/p>\n

Sarah Riley, a Lincolnview senior, who performed \u201cMenuett\u201d by Kulau\/Buchtel on tenor saxophone.<\/p>\n

The VWHS Mixed Ensemble (Liz Keirns, Sandy Nguyen, Alicia Miller, Kory Schlatter, Korbin Schalois, Cade Chiles and Jakob Schaufelberger), which performed \u201cClimbin\u2019 Up the Mountain\u201d by William H. Smith.<\/p>\n

Valerie Barnhart, a freshman at VWHS, who sang \u201cPer La Gloria D\u2019adorarvi\u201d (For the Glory of Adoring You) by Bononcini.<\/p>\n

LeAndryce Miller, a sophomore at VWHS, who played \u201cSpirit Dance\u201d by CW von Gluck on flute.<\/p>\n

James Defore, a junior at Van Wert, who sang \u201cRide On, King Jesus\u201d by Johnson.<\/p>\n

Olivia Morris, a home-schooled senior from the Lincolnview district, who played \u201cSonatina, Opus 13, No. 1, by Kabalevsky on piano.<\/p>\n

The Lincolnview Men\u2019s Vocal Ensemble (Chance Burnett, Skyler Whitaker, Taite McKinney and Braxton Matthews), which sang \u201cBound for Jubilee\u201d by Eilers.<\/p>\n

Teachers participating included Anna Baker and Stacie Korte at Lincolnview, Tina Decker, Julie Reichert and Bob Sloan at VWHS, and private teachers Annette Hoverman and Jake Wilder.<\/p>\n
