Dorothy J. Gardner, 83, of Van Wert, died at 3:25 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Van Wert Manor.<\/p>\n
She was born in Mercer County, the daughter of the late J. Raymond and Wilma (Searight) Swander. On February 2, 1952, she married Gordon E. \u201cGordy\u201d Gardner, who preceded her in death.<\/p>\n
Survivors include three children, Michael Gardner, Theresa Stuckey and Judy (Tod) Stuckey, all of Van Wert; a brother, Carl (Nila) Swander of Rockford; two sisters, Nancy Bruce of Celina and Betty (Vernon) Beck of Van Wert; and four grandchildren.<\/p>\n
A daughter, Barbara J. Gardner, in infancy; and one brother, Paul Swander, also preceded her in death.<\/p>\n
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, March 14, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Paul Hamrick officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.<\/b><\/p>\n
